Your life begins the day you give up the alcohol.
Your life begins the day you give up the alcohol.
Not in the literal sense. The 'you just feel so much better' or 'I go for walks on a morning'.
It literally changed how I see and navigate life.
When I drank alcohol, my decisions would rarely be for anything more than the next 6-12 hours.
Whether that was getting drunk when I had work or training day in the morning. Spending my last Β£50 on rum and cokes needed for food, or ruining my health to not have to think about where my life's heading for another night.
Alcohol leaves you in this place.
A place where you'd rather take the short term comfort in exchange for long term misery. You take it every single time.
This bled into my entire paradigm for how to live. When you drink regularly, you accept you're happy to stifle and self-sabotage your life. But you're not. You're not happy.
You condition yourself to avoid suffering and sacrifice that comes with making the better decisions.
That could be eating the pizza when you said you were gonna diet. Not asking a girl out in case she rejects you. Or staying in a dead end job, environment or relationship.
How you show up in one domain is how you show up everywhere. And drinking turns you to this weak, avoidant mindset.
Whether it's from the chemical reaction and depressive effect alcohol has on the brain or just the nature of knowing you're using it as a vice to escape the problems in your life.
Every. Day. Painful.
In that suffering of knowing you're not where you want to be. But for some reason, you don't do doing anything about it. A decade of my life not believing I could do or be anything.
We don't have long here.
The more think about it, there's definitely a factor of low testosterone / hormone imbalance at play. Just a few years ago I didn't dare approach a girl, post on social media, even speak up in a group all out of fear of judgement.
Even though I wanted to; wouldn't. To now quitting my job to build a business, travelling solo round the world, but most importantly believing I'm a man worthy of a good life.
If you still drink regularly, I promise it's holding you back. And will be the same story your entire life of knowing what doing what you NEED to but not doing anything about it.
Giving up alcohol has changed me to a completely different human in just a few years. It's made me realise I don't want the mediocre life, I want to be everything I can, and do whatever it takes to make it happen. want the same for you.
Before you let 2025 be another year not becoming what you know you could be.
Make it.
Your life begins the day you give up the alcohol.
