So over the last couple months, I've taken some time away from the keyboard.

Sometimes you need a break from it all.

More time to reflect.
Slow down.
Get back to peace in life.

When you do something like what I do on social media:

putting yourself out there, your ideas, thoughts, all that jazz..

But i've heard it all before..

'i'd love to just take shirtless pics and post videos for a living!'

and look.. that ain't a MILLION miles from the truth lmao.

But here's what people DON'T see..

The social media trade-off of mental health.


(now don't worry, this isn't me pulling out the violin..)

But when you choose to align yourself to the world of social media..

Your mental peace becomes the sacrifice.

And you don't even have to be a 'creator'.

Everyone knows the feeling of getting consumed, trapped, brainwashed by the internet.

β€” Whether it's comparing yourself on Instagram.

β€” Dreaming of what your life could look like.

β€” Or the simple nature of feeling completely glued, drained, and zapped of dopamine and joy from staring at the screen.

I know this all too well..

Multiple periods of my life I've felt that energetic pull to get the FUCK away from social media.

And every time I've listened to it, my life has drastically improved.

(seemingly overnight).

Because the world of social media truly means nothing.

You can comfortably waste 20, 30, even 50 hours a WEEK of your life scrolling.

With nothing to show for it, no feeling of happiness, only the impending feeling of knowing you're wasting your life.

It's the unconscious trap that drains your excitement for life.

24/7 connection to anyone and everyone across the world..

Yet somehow.. you feel more alone than ever.

The Social Disconnect of 'Social Media'.

I spend a lot of time looking over my life, paying attention to my energy, how I'm feeling, what feels misaligned, where I feel leaks in my energy.

everything is energy, and energy is everything.

Energy is literally ALL we have, and you should do EVERYTHING you can to protect it.

Because energy goes where your attention flows.

And we only have a FINITE amount.

(Now look, I'm not trying to paint 'energy' as some woo-woo term)

But I want you to lean into it, visualize it, understand this concept and believe it's real.

Just for a sec, ok?

So after some reflecting here in Thailand, I realised how much I needed to recoup my energy.


With life commitments, work, social life, family, meetings, and of course our phones and computers..

But it's so easy to lose yourself, and go into an unconscious loop:

  • Wake up
  • Check messages
  • Scroll reels
  • Check stories
  • Open 4 apps back to back
  • Reply to DMs
  • Watch random
  • YouTube clips
  • Feel drained and soulless
  • Dopamine depleted before 7am
  • Repeat 5 more times

When you look at your daily life like this, you can see JUST how much the phone and social media steals our mind.

And you don't even realise how disconnected you become.

One of the most underrated values is presence.
